Naturopathic medicine combines natural, nontoxic therapies with the science of human health, covering all aspects of family health from prenatal to senior care. The principles of naturopathic medicine is based on the premise that healing is intrinsic to the nature of all living organisms.
Treatment approaches may include:

Clinical Nutrition

Food is the best medicine and is part of the foundation of health. Individualized modifications to current diets are recommended to address deficiencies, promote health, prevent and treat diseases. The benefits of improved nutrition are far reaching and can greatly improve quality of life.

Physical Medicine

Physical medicine involves the use of multiple naturopathic modalities to effectively treat conditions involving the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Therapies include acupuncture, cupping, soft tissue work, exercise, hydrotherapy, heat and cold contrast to ensure optimal wellness.

Asian Medicine and Acupuncture

Asian medicine, including acupuncture, are based on a 5000-year-old practice of balancing qi (energy) in the meridian pathways of the body. The goal of each treatment is to create balance and harmony in the mind and body. Acupuncture provides a method of treatment which can unify and harmonize the imbalances present in disease conditions, which if untreated, can result in illness. Acupuncture, the insertion of sterile needles in specific points of the body, is a highly effective treatment for many conditions.

Lifestyle Counselling

Naturopathic doctors evaluate the environmental, mental, emotional and physical aspects of your health. By doing so, your ND can help you to make choices that will enhance your well-being and reduce stress levels.

Homeopathy is a form of medicine that entails the use of small doses of plant, animal or mineral derived substances. These minute doses are used to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Homeopathy is a tool that affects healing on a physical and emotional level. A homeopathic remedy is prescribed based on the unique traits of the patient.

Botanical Medicine

Botanical medicine is plant based medicine that involves the use of herbal teas, extracts, capsules and other preparations that assist in a state of illness or optimize organ function. Often times botanical medicines are compatible with the body’s own chemistry; hence, they can be quite effective with minimal side effects.

Bio-identical Hormone Restoration Therapy

Whether it is for thyroid care, PMS, menopause, or other women’s health conditions, we offer bio-identical hormone restoration therapy to get you back into balance. This is an individualized and customized approach to balance the hormones that may be causing migraines, weight gain, hair loss, sleeplessness and irritability.

Injectables Service

Your treatment course may include intramuscular injections administered by our NDs. B12 shots and more are carefully selected according to your health needs. Injections serve as a great tool to bypass a dysfunctional digestive system and deliver the nutrients you need – fast.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is an effective and natural way to counter-act the effects of aging on the face and neck, as well as, manage chronic skin conditions. It is a safe, 100% natural alternative to surgical face-lifts or Botox treatments, and is also less expensive.

Inhalation Therapy

Inhalation therapies are safe and effective for lung diseases, environmental exposures, and many other health concerns. Inhalation therapy uses a nebulizer that aerosolizes substances that help the body detoxify, reduce oxidative damage, and support immune system function. Conditions that may benefit from inhalation therapy: chronic infections (chronic ear infections, chronic runny nose, chronic post-nasal drip, chronic sore throat), chronic lung diseases (bronchitis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, lung infections, environmental air pollutant exposures), and multiple chemical sensitivity disorders (MCSDs), among others. Inhalation therapy is not suitable for patients with known sulfite sensitivities or bronchial asthma.

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic and traditional manual therapy. The goal of the practitioner is to find the underlying cause of the symptoms the body is experiencing and restoring the natural healing capabilities of the body. Osteopathic treatment works to restore proper body mechanics, nerve impulses and the circulation of body fluids. The treatments are not time-based, they are based on what your body’s needs are at that time.

The practitioner’s role is to encourage the self healing capacity through manual treatment. We allow the nature to do its job of removing the obstacles and obstructions that will interfere with the proper nutrition and drainage of the body’s tissues.

Osteopathy’s treatment philosophy seeks to identify areas of the body that are restricted or constricted, then gently eases their restrictions so that normal function can resume.

Benefits of Osteopathy

Since osteopathic treatments are very gentle, it can help all populations of people from an infant to a senior adult. Osteopathic treatments are safe, gentle and relaxing, and people who receive it are more likely to have an increase of vitality and better overall health.

Osteopathic treatments can be used to effectively reduce and alleviate pain in a number of different areas including back pain, neck pain, headaches and much more.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners can help prevent the recurrence of an injury or an acute condition or the development of an injury due to lifestyle factors through regular osteopathic care by keeping the body in optimal alignment.

Osteopathy is also able to provide treatments that provide relief from the symptoms of many chronic illnesses.

What to Expect in Your Osteopathic Visits

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that treats the whole person through a comprehensive and thorough case history and assessment. Through this the practitioner determines the onset of distress to the body and determine a treatment protocol.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners identify restrictions  that may inhibit inherent healing through precise palpation skills and relieve them so the body can naturally restore health to the areas in distress.

Osteopathy allows for normal interrelationships between the body’s anatomy and physiology. Once all fluids- blood, lymph and nerve- are given freedom of passage and allowed to flow, health is restored naturally.

Initial Consultation

It consists of a complete health history review and consultation. A full osteopathic assessment is performed followed by a general treatment.

Subsequent Treatments

It begins with a brief assessment to understand how the body is responding and adapting to the treatment followed by an Osteopathic treatment.
